# Smiddy Group > Less friction between companies and the systems they run on. Consulting and management across organization, process, and systems, optimizing for growth. Smiddy Group is a consulting and management firm. Optimizing for growth: organization, process, and systems, from current state through implementation. Principals lead and deliver. Clients are not listed. The work is how a company is structured, how work gets done, and the systems that support it. We are not an agency, a staff-augmentation shop, or a digital-transformation program. The systems underneath are often built for an earlier version of the company. - Growth: delivery, operations, and the product org need to keep up. We get them running as one unit. - Systems: the software has not kept up with the company. We bring the systems in line with how the company runs now. ## Practice Three service lines, often combined. - Consulting: what to change, and in what order. We start with organization, process, and systems. The result is a sequence in writing: what to change, in what order, and what to leave. Sometimes that is the whole engagement: a written assessment, a decision, and a plan they can run. - Management: someone accountable for how the company runs. When a seat is empty, or the work needs a leader who can hold it, we take it. Interim or fractional. They report in, make the calls, and keep the company moving while it changes. Growth, transitions, and the stretch where the direction is right and it still needs someone to run it. - Build: the systems and process the change requires. If the new way of operating needs a system, a process, or a product change, we make it with the people who will own it, so the company can run it. ## Approach How we work. Organization, process, and systems, from current state through implementation. - Look: we establish the current state of the organization, the process, and the systems. A written assessment of what to change, in what order, and what to leave. - Change: we put that sequence into practice: decision rights, process, and the systems underneath. - Stay: we stay through implementation. Interim leadership if a seat is open; otherwise with the team already in place. We leave when they can run it. The team: principals lead and deliver. Engagements are led and delivered by the principals you hire. They stay until the work is done. Scope: how the company is structured, how work gets done, and the systems that support it. ## Work Selected work. Clients are not listed. - 01 Software, assessment. Product, delivery, and operations each had a different picture of the work. The company was growing. Those functions were not working from the same picture. Releases slipped, and it was unclear why. We mapped how the company actually operated. Leadership left with a sequence: what to change, in what order, and what to leave. - 02 Industrial, modernization. A working company whose software had been outgrown. Still winning in its market. The systems in place had been bought and installed for an earlier version of the company. We aligned organization, process, and systems with how the company runs now. - 03 Product, interim. A leadership seat that needed filling while they hired. A company in a growth stretch lost a leadership seat. Finding the right person takes months. The function still needed to run. We took the seat and ran the function until they hired, and left a way of operating the next person could pick up. - 04 Group, several companies. A group of companies that needed to operate as a group. Several businesses under one group, each with its own way of working. They needed to grow, report, and decide together, without turning every company into the same company. We put a shared operating layer in place: how work moved, who owned what, what was common and what stayed local. ## Contact What is going on. We write back, and say so if it is not a fit.
